Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) has gained relevance in the field of analytical techniques over past decades. If compared with well-established like mass spectrometry or infrared spectroscopy, IMS is considerably less developed employed specific fields but presents promising results and a substantial margin for improvements. Its outstanding sensitivity selectivity, flexibility, instrumental versatility almost real-time capacity have contributed to elevate among main detection volatile organic compounds. Due its growth potential, it mandatory assess which scientific played relevant role years academic research understand areas can become equally important near future. For this purpose, hundreds works from ten were addressed most reviewed work. Three categories applications defined group articles: Environmental Safety Research, Health Research Food Research.
